born in the city of tokyo, ray lived a mostly content and naïve childhood, well sheltered in the safety of her parents' home. as a young little kid, she grew very fond of gardening with her mother, and competing against her father in various video games when she'd ventured home after an arduous day of school, with no homework in tow.

the parents' overprotective grip on her have caused the girl to be rather softspoken, withdrawn and naïve, and this was almost like a calling card for bullies ; the little whale has suffered harrassment ever since she was a wee child. seeing this sad string of events occur, they'd decided to relocate to iwatobi; the quaint, soothing atmosphere a more suitable environment for such a delicate little flower.

their hopes however, were a vain, ungranted wish. in middle school, her frustrations and abusers only got more fierce; unrelenting, vicious. it was during this time during a visit to the psychiatrist, and some well-needed therapy sessions, ray had been diagnosed with severe cases of social anxiety and depression. this has hindered her communal capabilities even further, and she is currently on medication to help treat this. although her little heart yearned for the city, the young whale was content with the port-side town, and her parents hadn't much money to move back.

with a new life as a high school student beginning to take place, the canary hoped for a clean slate; a bully-free three years. over the passing months of summer, her body had developed !! body curvaceous and robust, breasts supple, cheeks full and muscular thighs, this had upped the simple beatings to sexual harassment, and ambushes out of jealousy, to simple trippings because of simple, fervent hate. numerous u n h o l y scars marring her frame and flesh, the most prominent of these being an x-shaped flaw on her right hip. a group of bitter females thinking it would be a lesson well learned to shove her around the top of a staircase; only adding to ray's agony as she was grounded on shards of broken glass below.

her parents had long moved back to tokyo after their daughter's release from the hospital; this stage in her life finally feeding a flame in her heart. ray would take part in vicious physical training for two years before returning as a third year with a whit more of confidence. her gaze frightens the younger students, albeit she still tends to fall victim to those in her class. because of this, ray is often found wandering about on her own, or spending time with strays and young children. as a wonderful gift from her dearest older brother ( they are not related by blood, but their bond is akin to such a precious thing ), she'd been blessed with a little shikoku puppy which she had named tōsui; ( euphoria ), her presence bringing about a stronger sense of peace and love in her heart.

as of her 19th birthday, ray has decided to move back to tokyo with her mother, making her commute to a local university that much easier, along with easing the painful sense of loneliness they'd been feeling.

by her various displays of affection, and how she reacts when receiving said affection; one might say she is akin to a cat or dog. when a negative event takes places, the feedback given is that of the mentioned animal. she'll cringe, cower, wince, cry, and run. that's the only thing she is capable of, aside from staying there, and toughing through whatever may come next.
she has an extreme soft spot for strays, and animals of any sort. more often than not, you'll find the occasional cat or dog ( other than Tōsui ) in her home, and she will gladly and loving nurse them back to health before they decide to leave.
her fervent dislike in her breast size stems from horrific experiences in the city, and the cringe-worthy catcalling that pigs put her through. she has been handled more times than she can count, and because of this, she no longer wears form-fitting clothing when leaving the house. if ray is not home, she will most definitely be spotted in a thick, very large hoodie.
her innocence is almost childlike, and she is rather naive ( despite her recently cold presence ), and when a new, harsh thing is learned about the world, she cannot help but to be very distraught.
in seventh grade, she had been diagnosed with social anxiety and depression. but as of late her anxiety attacks have become more, and more frequent, and it is not helped by harrassment at school, and in public.
she's got a natural green thumb, and loves to garden. she's got a little field behind her home, an abode to all sorts of blossoms, but lilies are an absolute favorite. she's got a little batch of white stargazers on her bedroom's windowsill.
